Ask it the way you'd ask a neighbor
Has the creek been high this month? When does the Brookside council meet? How much rain fell last August? Has anybody seen a map turtle?
If the record holds the answer you get it, straight from the creek gauge, the weather records, the calendar or the stories, with a line under it saying where it came from. If it does not, you get every page and record with those words in them, so a name or a place works just as well.
Seven things get kept here, and none of them go anywhere.

Where this comes from Every room reads the same file the live page reads, so nothing here is kept by hand and nothing can fall out of step. The photographs are this site's own and are credited to whoever made them. Weather is the FIVEMILE weather station. The creek is the USGS gauge on Fivemile Creek near Republic, station 02457595. Stories are headlines and summaries from the outlets that published them, kept with a link back to the original. Dates are the same two lists the calendar reads. Species are research grade records from iNaturalist, the same ones Nature Watch shows. Nothing here is ever deleted. The search reads the same files and every page on the site. A question it has a rule for is counted from the record by rules written down in advance, and a question it has no rule for gets the pages and records that match, never a guess.
